Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Size: Exact Dimensions

A Yu-Gi-Oh! card measures exactly 59 × 86 mm (about 2.32 × 3.39 inches). Whether you are printing proxies, buying sleeves or designing a custom layout, this guide gives you every measurement you need. The proxy deck tool already prints at this exact size, so your proxies line up with real cards

Standard Yu-Gi-Oh! card dimensions

Every Yu-Gi-Oh! card, from Common to Secret Rare, shares the same trim size of 59 × 86 mm and a thickness of roughly 0.3 mm. Here it is in the units you are most likely to need:

UnitYu-Gi-Oh! card size
Millimeters59 × 86 mm
Centimeters5.9 × 8.6 cm
Inches2.32 × 3.39 in
Pixels at 300 DPI697 × 1016 px

Card size in pixels (for printing)

If you are preparing a file for print, design at 300 DPI: that makes a Yu-Gi-Oh! card 697 × 1016 pixels. Anything below 300 DPI is where blurry, low-quality proxies come from, which is why our tool renders cards at high resolution

Yu-Gi-Oh! vs Magic, Pokémon and Vanguard sizes

Trading card games come in two common sizes, and mixing them up is why sleeves sometimes don't fit. Yu-Gi-Oh! uses the smaller of the two:

  • Small ("Japanese") size, 59 × 86 mm: Yu-Gi-Oh! and Cardfight!! Vanguard
  • Standard size, 63 × 88 mm: Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon

Which sleeves fit Yu-Gi-Oh! cards?

Yu-Gi-Oh! cards are a "small" size, so they need Japanese-size sleeves (commonly 62 × 89 mm), not the standard sleeves made for Magic or Pokémon. The cards do physically slide into those larger sleeves, but they sit loose and shift around, which is not a great feel for shuffling or play

A sleeve is always slightly larger than the card; how much is down to preference. Perfect-fit sleeves hug the card almost to the millimetre (snug, and ideal as the inner sleeve when you double-sleeve, putting one sleeve inside another), while slightly roomier sleeves make cards far easier to slot in. We recommend a sleeve about 3 mm larger overall (the common 62 × 89 mm "small" size), so cards drop in without fighting and shuffling stays smooth

Since Cardfight!! Vanguard shares the exact same 59 × 86 mm size, the same Japanese-size sleeves fit both games, handy if you play more than one, or if you simply prefer the sleeves made for the other game

How to print Yu-Gi-Oh! cards at the exact size

To get proxies that match real cards, print at 100% scale with no margins, and never use "fit to page", which quietly resizes them. Our printing guide covers the exact browser settings, and the Yu-Gi-Oh! proxy generator is already set to the correct 59 × 86 mm, so you can print accurate proxies in a couple of clicks
